Edgard Tytgat

Edgard Tytgat (born April 28, 1879 in Brussels , †  January 11, 1957 in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert ) was a Belgian painter and illustrator.

Tytgat was initially influenced by French Late Impressionism and James Ensor . Later he developed an individual style that simplifies form. Tytgat also created woodblock prints. His painting was characterized by figure scenes, landscapes and portraits.
