Edge of Thorns is a power metal band from the Bitburg / Trier area .
The current line-up of the band, founded in 1996, consists of the founding members singer Dirk Schmitt and drummer Johannes Schütz, the guitar duet Dave Brixius and Raphael Gambuto and, since 2019, Vincent Niclou on bass.
The initially dark metal sounds were given their current melodic rock note by a few line-up changes in the course of the 10-year history of the band. After a few demos and EPs, the first album Ravenland was released in 2003. The second album Masquerading of the Wicked , completed at the beginning of 2006 , in which u. a. Piet Sielk ( Iron Savior ) and Bernd Aufermann (Ex- Angel Dust , Running Wild ) appear as guest musicians on November 2nd, 2007 after several postponements.
