Edith Marold

Edith Marold (born July 2, 1942 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian German and Scandinavian medievalist .

She studied at the Universities of Vienna and Copenhagen . In 1967 she was in Vienna with a thesis on The blacksmith in ancient Germanic specialist German Dr. phil. PhD . She then worked at the University of Saarland , where in 1977 for Germanic and Nordic Philology habilitated and was appointed head of the Department of German Studies Institute altgermanistischen 1978th In 1989 she moved to the University of Kiel as professor for Old German and Old Norse Philology , where she will continue to work beyond her retirement (2007).
