Live and act

Little is known about Edith Meinhard, although she was one of the busiest actresses in Germany in the 1930s. She made her silent film debut at the age of 10. A few years later she was hired by the production company Defu for two silent films. In 1929 she starred as Erika, Thyme's friend ( Louise Brooks ), in GW Pabst's critically acclaimed film Diary of a Lost .

The transition to sound film went smoothly, and Edith Meinhard played a wide range of supporting roles until the outbreak of war in 1939, including prostitutes, secretaries, maids and maids. Most recently it was only a matter of seconds appearances at the side of the top stars of the Third Reich such as Zarah Leander , Pola Negri and Marika Rökk . Edith Meinhard's last film was made in the spring of 1943, shortly before the start of the heavy Allied bombing raids on Berlin. Since one has never heard from her since then, Edith Meinhard may not have survived World War II .
