Edith Sack

Edith Sack (born October 15, 1960 in Tadten , née Petz) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ). Sack was a member of the Burgenland State Parliament from 2000 to February 2020 .

Life

Sack was born as the daughter of the bricklayer Robert Petz from Tadten. She attended elementary school in Tadten and secondary school in Andau before switching to the commercial school in Frauenkirchen. Sack worked from 1977 as a chief secretary and then as a commercial clerk. Later she was a branch manager in a fashion store in Frauenkirchen.

Sack has been a councilor in Tadten since 1998 and has been the local chairwoman of the SPÖ women's organization since 1991. In 1995 she was elected deputy district chairwoman of the SPÖ-Neusiedl am See and was a member of the Burgenland state parliament from December 28, 2000. Sack is the area spokesperson for families and women. After the state elections in 2020 , she left the state parliament.
