Edition Phantasia is a small German publisher based in Bellheim . The publisher mainly publishes fiction and the fantastic.

The publishing house, founded by Joachim Körber in 1984 together with Uli Kohnle and Thomas Bürk, became famous for its individual editions of various works by the writer Stephen King , which are now all considered valuable rarities.

Special expenses

In 1986 the publisher Stephen King published the short story Der Nebel in a limited edition of 500 copies under the title Nebel . This was preceded by a license agreement between the German rights holder, Heyne Verlag , and Edition Phantasia . King does not recognize this contract retrospectively, even though part of the edition (between 50 and 150 copies depending on the sources) had already appeared on the book market and sold. The remaining copies were destroyed, which enormously increased the collector's value of the issues already sold.

In the same year the publisher Kings Roman Es published in a limited luxury edition of 250 copies as well as another 30 in Roman numerals (full leather strap with red velvet slipcase) as the world's first edition.

As part of the publication of the novel Die Augen des Drachen , also by Stephen King, the publishing house published a portfolio of 13 illustrations by Johann Peterka for the book in 1987 .

The book Angst by Chuck Miller and Tim Underwood , a collection of interviews with King between 1979 and 1987, was published as a luxury edition limited to 300 copies and is not regularly available on the German book market.

Salman Rushdie's debut novel with the title Grimus was published in 1998 as a limited and signed luxury edition by the publishing house.

In addition, the editions of the entire work of HP Lovecrafts commented on by Marco Frenschkowski , the collector's editions of the works of Clive Barker , Ramsey Cambpell and other well-known authors of fantastic literature appeared in the publishing house .
