Angoulême FC
The Angoulême Charente Football Club is a French football club from Angoulême , capital of the French Department of Charente .
The ACFC was founded in 1920 as SC Angoulême ; The club carried this name until 1925, when it was called AS des Charentes . From 1948 to 1992 he played as AS Angoulême ; this time was his most successful, which even led him to a European competition. 1992 to 2005 the club was called AS Angoulême-Charente 92 and after an economically justified forced relegation from the fourth division, it took its current name.
The Angoumois club colors are blue and white; the league team plays in the Stade Camille-Lebon , which was inaugurated in 1935 and has a capacity of 6,500 seats. In the 2017/18 season she competes in the fifth division (National 3) .
League affiliation
Angoulême had professional status from 1945–1948 and 1965–1984. First class ( Division 1 , renamed Ligue 1 since 2002 ) played the club from 1969 to 1972; in the 2012/13 season he only competes in the sixth class Division d'Honneur . AS Angoulême was the club that unintentionally helped 1. FC Saarbrücken (as FC Sarrebruck ) in 1948/49 to its one-year guest appearance in the French second division because the ASA did not get a team together for the professional league that season.
