Germany

Tripp began playing football in his hometown at the local VfL Marburg before he was signed by the first division club 1. FC Köln for the 1962/63 season . His debut in the Oberliga West , in which he only played three point games, he crowned on March 24, 1963 (23rd matchday) in a 2-0 win in the home game against TSV Marl-Hüls with his first goal, the hit for 1-0 in the 77th minute.

In the 1963/64 season he belonged to Kickers Offenbach , who played in the then second division, the Regionalliga Süd . For Offenbach, he was used in 17 league games, two games in the DFB-Pokal competition and in five of six promotion games to the Bundesliga in Group 1 ; as the bottom of the group, however, the promotion to the top German division was clearly missed.

After three seasons he moved to the Regionalliga Südwest for 1. FSV Mainz 05 , which he also left after three seasons for France .

France

In the 1969/70 season he played for the French first division club FC Metz and played a total of 13 point games in which he scored three goals. During the current 1970/71 season he moved in November 1970 to league rivals CS Sedan for whom he scored two goals in 17 games; his team rose at the end of the season as the last of 20 teams in Ligue 2 , the second highest French division.

His former club returned at the end of the season 1971/72 as winners of Group A in the Ligue 1 back while he with his new club Olympique Avignon the Group C finished in second place.

For the season 1972/73 switched to second division AS Angoulême , he played for this all 34 point games in Group A , scored nine goals and thus contributed to sixth place.

From 1973 to 1976 he played for the second division club Stade Laval . In his last season he contributed to second place in Group A, which qualified for participation in the relegation . After winning two games for promotion to the first division against the runner-up in Group B , he changed Red Star FC for the last time.

He let his career fade away in the 1976/77 season at the lower-class amateur club Racing Club de France .
