Erwin Wilczek

Erwin Feliks Wilczek (born November 20, 1940 in Nowa Wieś / Antonienhütte , Upper Silesia ) is a former Polish football player .

He started his career at Wawel Wirek . 1954 to 1959 he played with Zryw Chorzów. In the years 1959-1973 he was with Górnik Zabrze one of the best Polish players. For Górnik he played 394 games and scored 96 goals. He was nine times Polish champion and six times cup winner. In 1970 he played with Górnik Zabrze in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup , which Górnik lost 2-1 to Manchester City . 1973 followed the move to US Valenciennes , where he was the top scorer in the French 2nd division.

During his time in Zabrze , Wilczek became a national player. He played 16 games with the Polish national team.

After finishing his playing career, he was initially a youth coach at Górnik Zabrze. He then went back to Valenciennes to become a coach. His last two coaching stations were AS Sogara Port Gentil ( Gabon ) and the Gabonese national team . AS Sogara Port Gentil he led to the final of the Africa Masters Cup.

In 1986 Erwin Wilczek finally ended his career and still lives in France today .
