Bakari Koné , also Baky Koné , (born September 17, 1981 in Abidjan ) is an Ivorian football player . He plays in the position of a striker . He is currently part of the squad of the Ivorian national soccer team . Koné is 1.63 meters tall. Among the many small, agile players in the Ivory Coast, he is the fastest player with Arthur Boka . He also stands out with his strong long-range shots and crosses.

For the 2003/04 season Koné moved to France for the Ligue 2 club FC Lorient ; Here he was the top scorer in Ligue 2 with 24 goals in his second season. In this tournament, Koné was used in five games and scored the interim 1-0 for the Ivorians in the quarter-finals against Cameroon . He was also successful in the following penalty shootout from the penalty spot.
At the 2006 World Cup , Koné played as a substitute in two games and scored one of the most beautiful goals of the entire tournament in the game against the Netherlands , first with the ball behind two opposing defenders and then at full speed from a good 20 meters Distance to shoot against his own direction exactly into the left corner of the goal.
