Sebastián Ribas , full name Sebastián César Helios Ribas Barbato , (born March 11, 1988 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Ribas made his debut at Juventud in 2005 , from whose youth teams he emerged. With the U-20 of the club he was champion of series B . In the 2005/06 season he was used 17 times, scored six goals and was runner-up in the Segunda División . In the summer of 2006 he was brought to the then Italian champions Inter Milan , where he did not get much advantage even after a loan deal within Italy to Spezia Calcio . This changed after Ribas was transferred to the French second division club FCO Dijon in 2008 for a transfer fee of one million euros . There he advanced to a goalscorer, was the top scorer in the 2010/11 season and at the same time made promotion with his club.

In view of its increased attractiveness for clubs with higher ambitions, however, he changed clubs again in the summer of 2011 and returned to Italy after three years. At CFC Genoa , however, he was unable to build on his old successes and was awarded first to Portugal and then again to France to AS Monaco in Ligue 2 . The club secured a purchase option with which Ribas could have been bought out in the summer of 2013 from his contract in Genoa, which was still valid until 2015. Instead, he was after a hapless year in Monaco, in which he did not come to a single use in the professional team and only played five games in the second team, loaned to Ecuador for one season at Barcelona SC Guayaquil . The Ecuadorians also secured a purchase option. With the Ecuadorians he played five games in the league (no goal) and two games in the Copa Sudamericana (no goal). At the end of January 2014 he switched to France on loan to Racing Strasbourg . There he signed a contract until the end of the season and played 13 league games and scored four goals. He then returned to Genoa for the 2014/15 season. After only two months, however, he moved on to Spain in early September 2014 without playing a competitive game for Genoa. Since then he has been working on a loan deal at Cartagena FC . In the 2014/15 season he was used 24 times in the league and scored six goals. In mid-July 2015, he moved to the Uruguayan first division club Centro Atlético Fénix . There he played five first division games in Apertura in 2015 (no goal). In early February 2016, he joined his league rivals River Plate Montevideo and played ten league games by the end of the season, in which he scored a personal goal. He also played six times (no goal) in the Copa Libertadores 2016 . The Mexican club Venados FC has been his employer since July 2016 . So far (as of March 4, 2017) he was there 16 times (seven goals) in the league and six times (two goals) in the Copa México .

National team

At least in 2005, Ribas was also a member of the Uruguayan U-17 national team . In the game of the U-17 against the Argentine club All Boys, he scored a goal in a 2-0 win on June 10, 2005. Also in the 2: 6 defeat against the Brazilian selection on July 18, 2005, he came into play.
