Petrus van Rhijn (born March 22, 1931 in Wassenaar ; † May 3, 1999 ) was a Dutch football player who was active as a striker.
Van Rhijn began his professional career in 1954 with the northern French club US Valenciennes-Anzin , which was then playing in the second division . Already in his first season there he scored forty goals and became the top scorer. The following year he was able to defend this title with 32 goals. At the same time he helped his club move up to the top division . In 1958 van Rhijn moved to Stade Français in the second division. In his first season there he scored 31 goals and was therefore in 1959 for the third time top scorer in the second division. In this case, too, the club rose to the top division. In 1961 he moved again from the first to the second division and went to FC Grenoble . Van Rhijn scored ten goals in the first season and was also able to celebrate promotion to the top division with Grenoble the following year. During the following season , van Rhijn moved to Olympique Nîmes . In 1963 he ended his career. He came to 133 first division games (58 goals) and 132 second division games (113 goals).
