Oscar Muller

Oscar Muller (born July 28, 1957 in Rosario , Argentina , † August 19, 2005 in Saint-Denis , Réunion ) was a French football player .

Muller was born the son of the Argentine soccer player Ramón Muller . In 1973 he moved to the French first division club FC Nantes . There he experienced his most successful period under the coaches José Arribas and Jean Vincent at the end of the 1970s and the beginning of the 1980s. With the club he was French champion in 1977, 1980 and 1983. In 1979 he also won the Coupe de France , the French Cup, with Nantes . In total, Muller played 213 first division games in his career, in which he scored 29 goals.

He ended his active career in 1990 and moved to the island of Réunion , where he worked as a coach for various clubs, including the national record champions JS Saint-Pierre .

On August 14, 2005, Muller was seriously injured when he was hit by a motorcycle. Five days later, he died in the capital hospital from his injuries.
