Edmond Malherbe

Edmond Paul Henri Malherbe (born August 21, 1870 in Paris , † March 7, 1963 in Corbeil-Essonnes ) was a French composer .

From 1884 Malherbe studied at the Paris Conservatory , where he was a composition student of Jules Massenet and Gabriel Fauré . In 1899 he won the Second Premier Grand Prix de Rome . He was awarded the Prix ​​Trémont of the Académie des Beaux-Arts three times : in 1907, 1913 and 1921. In 1950 he received the Great Music Prize of the City of Paris.

He composed several operas and a pantomime, symphonic works, choral works and songs, chamber music and piano pieces and wrote two music didactic works.
