Edmund Bartlett
Edmund Curtis Bartlett (born December 3, 1950 in Westmoreland ) is a Jamaican politician of the Jamaica Labor Party (JLP). He was Jamaica's Minister of Tourism from 2007 to January 2012 .
Life
Edmund Bartlett was born on December 3, 1950 in Westmoreland to Alexander Rudulf Bartlett and Olivia Lawson-Bartlett. He attended St. Elizabeth Technical High School and graduated from the University of the West Indies . Professionally, among other things, he was Senior Accountant at Revere Alumina Jamaica Ltd. active, he was Vice-President of the World Conference on Cultural Policies and Vice-Chairman of the UN International Youth Year Advisory Committee. Most recently, he was Marketing Sales Manager at Texaco Caribbean Inc. He is the founder of the Jamaica Foundation for Children. Bartlett is married and has two children.

Bartlett was elected to the House of Representatives in 1989 as a JLP candidate in the St. Andrew Eastern constituency. He was also an appointed senator at times. During the JLP government under Prime Minister Edward Seaga is Bartlett late 1980 Minister of Youth and Community Development and Minister of State ( Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and Culture have been). Since the general election in 2002 he has represented the constituency of St. James East Central in the House of Representatives, which he was also able to win for the JLP in 2007. In the election on December 29, 2011, he was able to defend his mandate again; the final decision in his constituency was not made until the votes were recounted on January 9, 2012.
Bartlett, who before 2007 was the opposition spokesman for tourism policy, was appointed tourism minister on September 3, 2007 after the JLP won the election and was sworn in on September 14, 2007. He remained minister until January 6, 2012. Since January 19, 2012, he has been the opposition spokesman for tourism policy.
