Edmund Reismann (politician, 1907)

Edmund Reismann (born March 10, 1907 in Vienna , † January 6, 1985 in the USA ) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and film technician. From 1945 to 1953 he was a member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

After elementary school Reismann attended a secondary school and studied philosophy, dramaturgy and German at the University of Vienna and at the Sorbonne in Paris . He also studied cinematography at the Technical University. Reismann was professionally active as a film technician and in a leading position at the Austria Wochenschau . Reismann was politically active in the Social Democratic Party, emigrating to Czechoslovakia for two years after the Austrian Civil War in 1934 . In 1945 he became district chairman of the SPÖ Wien- Meidling , and he also represented the SPÖ in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and March 18, 1953.
