Edmunda Klein

Edmunda Klein FBMVA (born November 14, 1898 in Birkenfeld , † September 11, 1995 in Waldbreitbach ) was a German nun. She was Superior General of the Waldbreitbach Franciscan Sisters .

Life

Born Barbara Klein, she trained as an office clerk from 1914 to 1917. In 1925 she joined the Third Order of the Waldbreitbach Franciscan Sisters and was given the name Edmunda. She was a kindergarten teacher and after-school care worker before she was promoted to the leadership of the order. From 1946 to 1958 she was Superior General, from 1958 to 1970 she was Vicar General of her order. During the Second World War she was the managing director of Marienhaus GmbH, one of the largest Christian supporters of social institutions in Germany, and in the 1970s she was superior in the St. Vincent children's home in Nordenham .
