Edna Maskell

Edna Maskell ( Edna Mary Therese Maskell; born April 13, 1928 ) is a former South African - North Rhodesian hurdler and sprinter .

At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , she reached the quarter-finals for South Africa starting over 100 m and the semi- finals over 80 m hurdles .

In 1954 she won over 80 m hurdles in 10.9 s for Northern Rhodesia starting at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver . The time was not recognized as a world record because of excessive wind support. She won bronze over 100 yards .
