Model cars and toys were sold under the Edocar brand from 1986 to 2007 by the Dutch company "Edor Benelux NL BV" and Fred Beherr BV .

By licenses from the May Cheong Group and Yat Ming Industrial Factory Limited was allowed Edor model cars of " Maisto " and "Yat Ming" produce and sell in Europe. Edor was founded in 1950 and sold Matchbox models from Lesney Products & Co. Ltd. until 1985 . Most of the Edocar models were die-cast 1:64 scale cars and were produced in China . Models from Hartoy, Real Toy, Tiger Wheels and Golden Wheels followed later.

The first model series, the “Mini Series” (EM series), comprised 50 different model cars in 1:64 scale, followed by the “EA series” which consisted of eight old-timer models in 1:43 scale. In 1988, the EM series was expanded to include additional color variants of the models. From 1990 onwards, new models and car models in new color variants were constantly being offered, and in 1992 the first own product catalog was published which contained all models. In the same year the "AK series" was added; it was a special series dedicated to the duck Alfred Jodocus Kwak from the Dutch series Alfred J. Kwak . There was also the “Poldertown” play street.

Another series was the "Alarm Series", which initially consisted of six model cars with sirens and flashing lights. The "Super Weels Series" (EB series) consisted of six cars with pull-back motors . The "EC series" included model cars that changed their color with cold or warm water. In 1991 toy cars with characters from the animated series The Flintstones appeared .

In 1990 there were the following model series:

  • Edocar-Mini, EM
  • Edocar-Ancient, EA
  • Edocar-Color, EC
  • Edocar-, EB
  • Alfred-Kwak, AK
  • Alarm series, AS
  • Trailer pack, TP
  • Super trailer, ST
  • Poison set, GS
  • Vehicle Collection, VC
  • Accessories AC
  • Coca-Cola, CC and CM

The best-known car models are the Coca-Cola models, which were sold under the licenses of Hartoy with the Coca-Cola logo and in the Coca-Cola colors. In 1995 the Baja Bug Käfer (CJ 1 Buggy) appeared, which plays the song "Always Coca-Cola", notes and text were included.

The 1:64 scale VW Scirocco I was initially sold as Yat Ming (Made in China), although the model was also offered by Yat Ming himself (Made in Hong Kong ). Later the model was only available as an Edocar model (Made in China). There was also an Austin Mini from the EA series in 1:55 scale and not, as usual, in 1:64 scale.

But there were also car models whose colors were exclusive to Edor, such as the Ferrari Daytona in white which was only available as Edocar.

At the beginning of 1999 the product lines and the model numbering were changed:

  • Travel series
  • Engine series
  • Farm series
  • Music series
  • Super range

Only one model car is known that was designed and produced by Edor himself - a " Lancia Rally 037 " in 1:64 scale. In 1999 Edocar models were available in 13 European countries as well as in Singapore and Hong Kong. The bankruptcy of "Edor Benelux NL BV" in 2007 led to the cessation of production. At the end of 2007, a series of Edocar models temporarily came onto the market from Loyal Bright Ltd. was evicted from Hong Kong.
