Edouard Zeckendorf

Edouard Zeckendorf (born May 2, 1901 in Liège , Belgium , † May 16, 1983 ibid) was a Belgian amateur mathematician.

Zeckendorf was a general practitioner , became an officer in the Belgian army in 1925 and specialized as a dentist after his military service. After the surrender of the Belgian army in 1940, he was taken prisoner by Germany until 1945 . After 1945 he published several writings based on elementary number theory in the Bulletin de la Société Royale des Sciences de Liège .
