Eduard Brauer (painter)

Eduard Brauer (* 1798 in Kassel ; † 1867 there ) was a German history and portrait painter and drawing teacher.

Life

Little is known about Brauer's life. Before 1822 he studied at the Art Academy in Kassel , between 1822 and 1825 he stayed in Paris . There he studied at the École des Beaux-Arts as a student of Alexandre Denis , Abel de Pujols and Antoine-Jean Gros . From 1835 to 1867 he worked as a teacher for free drawing and perspective at the Kassel Art Academy.
