Eduard Haenel

Friedrich Eduard Haenel (born March 5, 1819 in Dresden , † May 22, 1878 in Magdeburg ) was a German engineer and chairman of the Association of German Engineers (VDI).

Life

As a young engineer, Eduard Haenel became machine director at the Graeflich Stolberg machine factory in Magdeburg. He joined the Association of German Engineers in 1856, the year it was founded. Haenel was the founding chairman of the VDI district association of Magdeburg, which was founded in 1857. In 1858 and 1863 he was chairman of the VDI.

Haenel worked professionally with Girard turbines .
