Eduard Karl Rösicke ( September 10, 1789 in Berlin - June 14, 1837 in Oldenburg ) was a German theater actor , comedian and theater director .

Life

Rösicke took the stage in Halle in 1821 after he had trained himself for the theater. However, he left this city and hung around as a guest at traveling companies. In 1824 he finally took a permanent engagement in Berlin at the Königstädtisches Theater. This is where his talent found, he was a comedian of real meal, rich food and he was recognized by all sides. However, he had to share the comic subject at the local theater with Louis Angely , Heinrich Schmelka and Josef Spitzeder , but he was a worthy part of this four-leaf clover. Yes, it has even been claimed that he paints most faithfully after life because of the rich fund of true comedy.

In 1834, however, since his effectiveness no longer satisfied him, he left the site of his ten years of undistorted success and turned to Oldenburg, at which court theater he also took over the direction.

Rösicke died there in the prime of his life on June 14, 1837.

He was an effective comedian and, although he always stayed away from exaggeration and showmanship, the darling of the masses.
