Eduard Merk
Eduard Merk (born March 7, 1816 in Munich ; † February 8, 1888 there ) was a German history and genre painter.
Born the son of a Munich court jeweler, Merk began studying at the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich on November 28, 1829 . From 1838 he continued his studies in Rome , after which he returned to Munich. He exhibited his works in the Munich Art Association .
His daughter Emma Haushofer-Merk (1854-1925) became a well-known writer.
