Eduard Schifferdecker

Eduard Schifferdecker (* 1833 in Mosbach ; † 1915 ) was a German brewery owner in Ponarth .

Career

He was the youngest brother of the brewer Johann Philipp Schifferdecker and in 1869 acquired his brewery , which had meanwhile moved from Mosbach in Baden to Ponarth in Prussia. He had sports facilities, company apartments and bathing establishments built. In 1892 he made a donation of 10,000 marks to his hometown of Mosbach, from which services were repeatedly given to those in need in the following years. Together with other landowners, he also donated the church in Ponarth , where he was the church patron and was buried in the Schifferdecker family crypt in 1915.

He was a Prussian knight and a commissioner . He wore the Prussian Order of the Red Eagle and in 1909 was made an honorary citizen of his native Mosbach.
