Eduardo Castro

Eduardo Castro ( Eduardo Castro Almanza; born May 1, 1954 ) is a retired Mexican middle and long distance runner .

In 1977 he won silver over 1500 m and bronze over 800 m at the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships and in 1978 silver at the Central American and Caribbean Games over 1500 m.

In 1979 he won silver over 800 m at the Central America and Caribbean Championships and was fourth over 1500 m at the Pan American Games in San Juan .

At the Central American and Caribbean Championships in 1981 and the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1982, he achieved double victories over 1500 m and 5000 m .

In 1983 he triumphed at the Pan American Games in Caracas over 5000 m and was again fourth over 1500 m.

At the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles he reached the semifinals over 5000 m.

At the World Cross Country Championships he came in 1982 in Rome on place 87 and in 1984 in East Rutherford on place 29.
