Eduardo Ramos Escobedo (born November 8, 1949 in Mazatlán , Sinaloa ) is a former Mexican football player who served as a central defender and was under contract with Deportivo Toluca and Deportivo Guadalajara .

Career

Eduardo Ramos made his professional debut in 1968 for Deportivo Toluca, moved to Guadalajara in 1977 and ended his active career there in 1981.

Ramos made his international debut on February 19, 1971, when he was substituted on in a friendly against the Soviet Union (0-0). He played his first full international game in a comparison with the GDR (0-0) on August 18, 1971. Ramos made 38 international appearances and was also included in the squad of the Mexican national team , which traveled to Argentina for the 1978 World Cup . There he played the first two games against Tunisia (1: 3) and Germany (0: 6), which was also his last international appearance. Because in the third game against Poland (1: 3) his use of the almost completely reorganized defense line fell victim, in which only Arturo Vázquez Ayala could assert himself. At that World Cup, Mexico lagged far behind its own expectations and demands and was eliminated after the preliminary round for the last time.
