Edward Piotr Fender (born August 8, 1942 in Bielitz ) is a former Polish luge athlete who competed in international competitions in the 1960s.
Career
Fender won his first national title at the Polish Championships in 1960 with his partner Jerzy Wojnar . Three years later, he and Mieczysław Pawełkiewicz won the silver medal in the two-seater competition at the 1963 Luge World Championships in Imst . At the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1964 , the couple took sixth place. In the individual competition he was eliminated in round one. A little later he won his second Polish championship title together with Mieczysław Pawełkiewicz.
After the end of his playing career, Fender worked as a coach. From 1978 to 1983 he looked after the national team in natural track tobogganing .
