Edward Hicks
Edward Hicks (born April 4, 1780 in Langhorne , Pennsylvania , † August 23, 1849 in Newton ) was an American painter of the Naive Art style .
Life
Hicks was a painter and preacher for the Quakers in the United States. One of his well-known works is titled The Kingdom of Peace , a motif he painted over a hundred times in different versions, of which about 62 have survived. His nephew was the painter Thomas Hicks .
