Edward Turner Bennett

Edward Turner Bennett (born January 6, 1797 in Hackney , London , † August 21, 1836 in London) was an English doctor , zoologist and writer.

Life

Bennett's real passion alongside his profession as a doctor was zoology. In 1822 he supported the establishment of an entomological association in England. This developed in connection with the Linnean Society of London into a zoological association, which represented the starting point of the Zoological Society of London , of which he was secretary from 1831 until his death in 1836.
