Edwin Arnet

Edwin Arnet (born May 11, 1901 in Zurich ; † November 27, 1962 there ) was a Swiss writer and journalist .

Life

During his lifetime he was a popular author in Switzerland, whose importance is still given, especially in the Zurich area. At the age of 23, Arnet had his first literary success with the novel Emanuel , which was awarded the first prize of the Orell Füssli novel competition . From 1925 Arnet was local editor of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung , from 1941 to 1955 he headed the department.

His novels and stories often describe shy and sensitive people. The inclination to the small, to breastfeed and gentle is characteristic of him.

Arnet also wrote non-fiction books about his Swiss homeland.
