Edwin Ramel

Edwin Ramel (born June 10, 1895 in Lausanne , † August 30, 1941 ) was a Swiss dermatologist .

Ramel studied medicine at the University of Lausanne and received his doctorate in 1921. On October 15, 1925, he was appointed associate professor and - as successor to Émile Dind - head of the Dermatological University Clinic in Lausanne. On October 15, 1938, he was appointed full professor. He became known for his research on skin tuberculosis and skin cancer . Ramel was co-editor of the Journal international de dermatologie . He died of a "very unexpected, rapid, gliomatous brain tumor ".
