Edwin V. Dodge

Edwin Vernon Dodge (* 1944 in Cardinal , Ontario ) is a Canadian railway - Manager . He was the last President and Chief Executive Officer of the Soo Line Railroad .

Life

Frank and Gladys Dodge's son attended Trinity College School in Port Hope , Ontario. In 1967 he graduated from McGill University Montreal with a Bachelor of Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario . From 1969 he began to work for the Canadian Pacific Railway . In 1973 he was Regional Marketing Director in Vancouver .

Later he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales and Senior Vice President of CP Rail's Heavy Haul Systems division. This was responsible for the transports that did not concern container traffic, especially grain, fertilizers, chemicals and liquids.

With the complete takeover of Soo Line Railroad , Ed Dodge was also appointed President and CEO of this railway company and the Soo Line Corporation holding company in May 1989.

In 1995 he became Executive Vice President for Operations. At the beginning of June 2001 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for the operational business on the Board of Management. He retired in March 2004. Since the Soo Line Railroad was now fully integrated into the operational process and only existed on paper, the position of President and CEO was not reassigned.

In 1973 he married Rita Mary Dobbin.
