Effective focal length

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In optics, the effective focal length is the focal length of a system made up of several refractive elements such as lenses or curved mirror surfaces . With telescopes , for example, the effective focal length can be adapted to the respective requirements by combining the main optics (in the simplest case a single lens or a concave mirror ) with different eyepieces .

To calculate the effective focal length see article Focal length .
