history

In 1938, Mads Eg Damgaard , a man with vision, laid the foundation stone for the Ege company. He firmly resolved to use only the most modern technology for the production of carpets, even if he had to disregard conventions. The company has always maintained this philosophy. Today it is one of the largest manufacturers of textile floor coverings in Europe.

In 1985 the company was transformed into a stock corporation and went public.

sustainability

The company aims to contribute to a more sustainable world and has one of the most advanced technologies in the industry. It is therefore able to meet the requirements of the international standards Cradle to Cradle and - as the only carpet manufacturer in the world - the Danish standard DS 49001 based on ISO 26000 . The aim is to create products that come exclusively from materials from a healthy product cycle and have no harmful effects on people or the environment. Products are developed so that they are part of a biological or technical cycle and do not generate waste. Further goals: climate neutrality and the exclusive use of renewable energies.
