Egon Haar (born September 14, 1947 in Judenburg ) is an Austrian engineer and university professor .

Life

After studying engineering at the Montan University Leoben , Egon Haar studied metallurgy, business and energy management, and graduated in 1976 with a degree in engineering. In 1982 he received his doctorate. Until 1996 he held a managerial position at Stadtwerke Judenburg . He then had several teaching positions at the Montan University Leoben, the ETH Zurich , the TH Darmstadt , the University of Graz and at the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein .

Together with Ernst Hackenberg, Egon Haar developed a flexible cover for sewer manholes, which was honored with the honorary prize Service for Progress and the Grand Prix d'Innovation 2002 at the 51st Eureka inventors' fair in Brussels .
