The hillside Leite der Isar is dominated by natural forests, including in particular sycamore - ash forest and beech forests and orchids -Buchenwald. There are around 25 plant species on the Bavarian Red List , including the largest population of strawberry clover in Lower Bavaria . The region is a habitat for amphibians , birds , butterflies , grasshoppers , wild bees and beetles . Particularly noteworthy is the occurrence of the yellow-bellied toad , the great crested newt and the German tiger beetle .
