The badge of honor of the state of Schleswig-Holstein is an award given by the German state of Schleswig-Holstein .

purpose

The badge of honor was donated in 1982 by the Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein in order to honor citizens who “have made outstanding contributions to the general public through many years of voluntary work”.

Award criteria

The prerequisite for an award is at least twelve years of active voluntary work. The members of the state government of Schleswig-Holstein can make suggestions for the award . Proposed candidates must have their place of residence in Schleswig-Holstein or, if they live outside the state, have carried out their voluntary work in Schleswig-Holstein.

Voluntary work in the communal area should be awarded the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medal , voluntary work in the sporting field with the sports badge of the State of Schleswig-Holstein , and outstanding services to the homeland by being awarded the Schleswig-Holstein Medal .

If an honorary activity has already been awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany , there should be no additional award with the badge of honor.

Award

The badge of honor is awarded by the Prime Minister of Schleswig-Holstein. On awarding a will certificate issued.

Appearance

The badge of honor of the state of Schleswig-Holstein is 15 mm tall and made of silver . It shows the coat of arms of Schleswig-Holstein .

In addition to the badge of honor, a ribbon buckle has been available since 2004, which enables uniform wearers to wear the badge accordingly.
