The oak-beech forest near Haus Düsse is a 8.71  hectare nature reserve (NSG) northwest of Ostinghausen in the municipality of Bad Sassendorf in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia . The NSG was designated in 2003 (as a regulation terminated until 2023).

Area description

The NSG with the identification SO-051 is a near-natural oak-beech forest, located immediately north of the agricultural test and education center Haus Düsse . The area is bordered to the north by Schoneberger Straße (L 808). There are agricultural areas to the west.

Protection purpose

In addition to the goal of "developing a deciduous forest area with the species typical of the native deciduous forest communities", the NSG serves in particular to protect the great mouse-eared mouse and honey buzzard .
