Eikan (era)
Eikan ( Japanese 永 観 ) is a Japanese era ( Nengō ) from December 983 to May 985 according to the Gregorian calendar . The previous era name is Tengen , the following era is called Kanna . The era falls during the reign of the emperors ( Tennō ) En'yū and Kazan .
The first day of the Eikan era corresponds to May 29, 983, the last day was May 18, 985. The Eikan era lasted three years or 721 days.

- Minamoto no Tamenori wrote the Sambō Ekotoba ( 三宝 絵 詞 , German: "Three gems in words and pictures") for a daughter of the Reizei -Tennōs
