Eili Harboe

Eili Harboe (born August 16, 1994 in Stavanger , Norway ) is a Norwegian actress. She became internationally known for her role as Thelma in the same science fiction - Thriller by Joachim Trier , who for Norway at the Oscars 2018 in the category of foreign-language Best Picture went to the races.

Life

Acting career

In 2012 Eili made her actress debut with her role as Irene in the Norwegian drama Company Orheim , based on the novel of the same name by Tore Renberg . She gained greater fame in 2013 with her debut as a leading actress in the film Kiss me, damn it! by Stian Kristiansen, and in 2015 with her role as Vibeke in the disaster film The Wave , where she stood in front of the camera next to Kristoffer Joner . She finally got international attention through the lead role in Joachim Trier's film Thelma .

Eili names - in addition to art, music and literature in general - the actresses Naomi Watts , Natalie Portman and Ellen Page , as well as the films The Virgin Suicides and Mulholland Drive - Street of Darkness as important sources of inspiration. She also said she was a big fan of director David Lynch .

Personal

Eili Harboe has been studying art history at the University of Oslo since 2017 . She already has a bachelor's degree in English literature.

Eili Harboe has been active in various Norwegian bands since she was a child, including as a singer in an acid jazz funk band and in a hip hop orchestra .
