Eilmsen is a village and a district in the municipality of Welver in the Soest district in North Rhine-Westphalia . From 1920 to 1969 Eilmsen was an independent municipality in the old Soest district .

Eilmsen is located in the far northwest of the municipality of Welver and belongs to the Welver municipality of Eilmsen-Vellinghausen .
history
The place was first mentioned in 890 under the name Egilmaringhusen . Until 1920, the village of Eilmsen belonged to the municipality of Vellinghausen in the Borgeln district of Soest in the Westphalian administrative district of Arnsberg . In 1920 the village was spun off from the municipality of Vellinghausen and raised to an independent municipality. Through the law to reorganize the district of Soest and parts of the district of Beckum , Eilmsen became part of the municipality of Welver on July 1, 1969.
