Vellinghausen is a village and a district in the municipality of Welver in the district of Soest in North Rhine-Westphalia . Until 1969 Vellinghausen was an independent municipality in the old district of Soest .

Vellinghausen is located in the far northwest of the municipality of Welver and is part of the Welver municipality of Eilmsen-Vellinghausen .

history

At Vellinghausen took place on 15./16. July 1761 the Battle of Vellinghausen took place as part of the Seven Years' War . Since the 19th century, Vellinghausen formed a municipality in the Borgeln district of the Soest district in the Westphalian administrative district of Arnsberg . The village of Eilmsen originally also belonged to the municipality of Vellinghausen , which was spun off in 1920 and made an independent municipality. Through the law to reorganize the district of Soest and parts of the district of Beckum , Vellinghausen became part of the municipality of Welver on July 1, 1969.
