A Case for Super Pig ( Jap. とんでぶーりん , Tonde Burin ) is a shōjo - manga series of Taeko Ikeda , published from August 1994 to September 1995. The Magical Girl Series was in the same year as Anime - television series adapted.
action
On the street, the schoolgirl Karin Kokubu (Kassie Carlen) gets to know a little yellow pig who claims to be Prince Tonrariano III. (Iggy Pig) emerged from the planet Būringo (Oinko). The two become friends. Karin / Kassie is given superpowers by the pigs, which transform them into a pig with magical abilities. She now helps people out of sticky situations as a Burin ( Super Pig ). In doing so, she earns pearls that she must collect so that the yellow pig can go home again. In addition, if Karin / Kassie has collected enough pearls, she can choose a different form of transformation than that of a pig. Meanwhile, her father, a journalist, tries to find out who the mysterious Burin / Super Pig really is.
publication
The manga appeared from August 1994 to September 1995 in the magazine Ciao of the Shogakukan publishing house and was also published in three anthologies. A Chinese translation was published by Daran Culture Enterprise.
Anime adaptation
In 1994, Nippon Animation produced an anime adaptation of the manga, which comprises a total of 51 episodes. Directed by Kunihisa Sugishima , Masato Kitagawa and Matsuura. Hiromi Kato created the character design and the artistic direction was Masamichi Takano .
The series was first broadcast on the Mainichi Broadcasting System from September 3, 1994 to August 26, 1995. The English version was produced by Saban Entertainment and ran on several US broadcasters. The German version based on it was first broadcast on November 27, 1999 on RTL . There were other broadcasts on Jetix and Premiere . The anime was also shown on Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Portuguese television.

The soundtrack of the series was composed by Goro Omi . The opening credits are Ai wa Kakkowarui ( 愛 は カ ッ コ わ る い ) and the credits are underlaid with Būrin a la Mode ( ぶ ー り ん あ ・ ら ・ も ー ど ). Both songs are from the Parquets.
