Einar Jónsson (badminton)

Einar Jónsson (born July 29, 1913 in Reynir í Mýrdal , † March 26, 2008 ) was an Icelandic badminton player .

Career

Einar Jónsson is one of the pioneers of the Tennis og Badmintonfélag Reykjavíkur , which was founded in 1938, and one of the pioneers of badminton in Iceland. At the first ever Icelandic championship in this sport, he won the men's singles title. Seven further titles followed by 1962, all of which he was able to fight for in men's doubles.
