An overtime in a good mood is the successor to the comedy album A 2nd hour in a good mood by the GDR comedians Herricht & Preil . It was released in 1988 by Litera on cassette and record. This is the last Herricht & Preil record from the GDR. All recordings are live recordings from various GDR stages.

Content of the skits
- The game of chess: Preil explains to Herricht how to play chess, but Herricht does not understand this.
- The driving school: Herricht would like to get his driver's license , so Preil would like to ask him about important things.
- Perfection: Herricht, who speaks no foreign languages, surprises Preil with the invented word perfection .
- Hunting scene: Preil wants to show Herricht how to hunt with a rifle .
- Cooking scene: Herricht wants to cook a rabbit .
- The betting slip: Herricht and Preil discuss which sports they would like to bet on.
- Santa Claus: Preil shows herricht how to play Santa Claus.
- Travel acquaintance: Preil wants to take the train to Hungary and shows Herricht how you can meet strangers on a train.
