The series is based on the character Unicorn-Kitty from The Lego Movie from 2014. There she was the princess of the Cloud Cuckoo Land, which was destroyed by the villains of the film.
In the series, Princess Unicorn-Kitty always tries to keep up the good mood in her kingdom. She is supported by her friends. But there are also adversaries, like the devious master frown.

- Falkodil: In the original Hawkodile . He is unicorn kitty's bodyguard and very battle-tested. He has a weakness for Doctor Vixen.
- Richard: This gray Lego is Unicorn Kitty's servant. He often appears depressed and bored, but that's how he likes it.
- Master frown: Originally his name is Master Frown . He's from Wrinkle City, the absolute opposite of Unicorn-Kitty's kingdom. Master frown takes great pleasure in making people sad. However, it is more of a nuisance than a really dangerous one.
Production and publication
On May 10, 2017, Cartoon Network announced that they had ordered the series based on the character from The Lego Movie . It was created in the same year at Warner Bros. Animation under the direction of producers Ed Skudder and Lynn Wang . The main authors were Chad Quandt and Aaron Waltke . Andrea Fernandez was the artistic director and Molly Yahr and Ryan Samsam were responsible for the editing . Nick Keller composed the music . Executive producers also included the Lego movie's two directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.
The 11-minute episodes will be broadcast by Cartoon Network in the United States for the first time since October 27, 2017 . The German branch of the station has been showing them in German since March 26, 2018. Cartoon Network also broadcasts it in other countries such as Canada, Australia, Southeast Asia, Brazil and Spain.
