Kate Micucci (born March 31, 1980 in Jersey City , New Jersey ) is an American actress , voice actress , artist , comedian and singer-songwriter .

Early life and education

Kate Micucci was born in New Jersey and raised in Nazareth , Pennsylvania , where she learned to play classical piano. In 1998 she graduated from high school in Nazareth. She received an Associate of Arts degree from Keystone College in La Plume in 2003 . She currently resides in Los Angeles .

Acting and music career

Micucci was best known in the USA as Oates in the duo Garfunkel & Oates , where she plays and sings ukulele alongside her long-time friend Riki Lindhome .

On television, Micucci appears in numerous commercials and guest roles such as Malcolm in the Middle , How I Met Your Mother , Simply Cory! (2 episodes) or Scrubs - The Beginners (4 episodes) on and in leading roles such as in Ehe ist ... in which she took over the role of daughter Ally Stark from the 11th episode of the fourth season . In episode 9 of the same season, she played a waitress. This was followed by other television appearances. In 2010 Micucci played a supporting role in the movie When in Rome - five men are four too many . She had a recurring role as Shelly on the sitcom Raising Hope from 2010 to 2014 . In the series The Big Bang Theory she played in 2013 in the second half of the sixth season in six episodes in a recurring role Rajesh's friend Lucy.

Micucci released the EP Songs in 2008 .
