Horst-Krafft Robert

Horst-Krafft Robert (born May 1, 1920 in Hindenburg OS ; † February 22, 2009 ) was a German diplomat . Among other things, he was the German ambassador in Buenos Aires (1972–1975) and permanent representative of Germany to the OECD (1979–1985).

Life

Horst-Krafft Robert studied law and received his doctorate in 1944 on the subject of poverty in Heidelberg: investigation of the causes of the need for help under the law on poor.

Until March 17, 1969, Robert was a lecturer in the first class of the Legation and headed the section on fundamental issues of international economic cooperation, European trade and agricultural policy; OECD, GATT of the Federal Foreign Office . Effective March 17, 1969, Robert became Head of Subsection A in the Trade and Development Policy Department . Effective May 19, 1969, Robert was promoted to Ministerial Director.

On April 10, 1970, Robert was a member of a German delegation which, with representatives of the Nixon government, discussed the negotiations between Willy Brandt's government and the governments of Poland and the USSR. From 1972 to 1975 he was ambassador to Argentina .

From the end of 1975 Robert headed the German delegation which prepared the Ministerial Conference on International Economic Cooperation (CIEC) from 16 to 19 December 1976 in Paris and from 1979 until his retirement he was head of the Permanent Mission of Germany to the OECD in Paris .
