Egon Emmel
Egon Emmel (born May 29, 1914 in Hamburg ; † 1983 ) was a German diplomat .
Life
In 1934 Egon Emmel graduated from the Wilhelmgymnasium in Hamburg . He studied in Hamburg and took part in the Second World War. Emmel received his doctorate in 1946 . Then he practiced the profession of businessman. From 1948 to 1950 he was employed by the Food, Agriculture and Forestry Administration (VELF) of the United Economic Area. In 1950 he married Brigitte Voss; they have two sons and a daughter.
From 1950 to July 1, 1955, Egon Emmel was employed by the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Freezing . On July 1, 1955, Egon Emmel joined the foreign service . From 1961, Counselor Egon Emmel represented the ambassador and headed the economic service at the German government's representation at international organizations in Geneva. From February 1965, Ambassador Egon Emmel was the representative for contract negotiations in the Trade and Development Policy Department and lecturer in the Legation in Bonn. In 1966 he was promoted to Ministerial Conductor. In 1966 and 1970 Egon Emmel conducted business talks in Moscow . In the spring of 1967 Egon Emmel held trade talks in Belgrade . From 1973 until his retirement on May 31, 1979, Egon Emmel was Germany's permanent representative to the OECD.
